u-he Triple Cheese is a free synthesizer for producers who want to explore retro digital tones and lush textures without relying on conventional oscillators. Its sound engine uses three comb-filter modules in series: each can create sound or reshape the signal from the preceding stage. Multiple modes give you different starting points for experimenting with this unusual synthesis approach.
For hobby producers working in FL Studio or Ableton Live on Windows, the 254 factory presets provide a practical introduction. You can play up to 16 voices, switch to duophonic, monophonic or legato operation, and adjust glide between notes. Two ADSR envelopes and two tempo-syncable LFOs handle movement, while velocity, pressure, modulation wheel and other sources let patches respond to your playing.
Built-in chorus, flanger, phaser, delay and reverb add width, motion or space. MIDI learn makes hardware mapping straightforward, and the interface scales from 70% to 200%. Version 1.3 also adds Oddsound MTS-ESP support for tuning workflows. On Windows, Triple Cheese supports VST2, VST3 and AAX in 32-bit and 64-bit versions; it requires a compatible host rather than running standalone.
