u-he Zebralette v2.9.3 is a free spectral synthesizer for producers who want to explore custom waveforms without tackling a sprawling synth interface. Built around one Zebra2 oscillator, it suits beginners learning synthesis as well as hobby producers designing layered leads, evolving pads and animated textures.

The oscillator holds up to 16 waves. Draw wave shapes or edit their harmonic content, then use WaveWarp modulation to travel through the waveset. Four editing modes offer different ways to morph or crossfade between shapes, while 24 spectral effects provide further sound-shaping options, including sync and phase distortion.

Despite its compact design, Zebralette supports up to 16-voice polyphony and oscillator stacking with adjustable stereo width. Two LFOs, an ADSR envelope and a 32-stage multi-stage envelope supply movement, with chorus/phaser, EQ and delay available for finishing sounds inside the plugin.

Start with 300 factory presets, resize the interface to fit your screen, and assign hardware controls using MIDI learn. Version 2.9.3 adds Oddsound MTS-ESP support. For Windows setups, requirements include Windows 7 or newer and a compatible plugin host. Presets can also be opened in Zebra2 if you later move to the larger synth.
