UM225 and UM226 from Waves are upmixing plugins that convert stereo audio into 5.0 or 5.1 surround. Designed for music, film, and TV post-production, they intelligently spread stereo material across front and surround speakers using eight program-specific modes. Ambience controls adjust the size of the surround stage, while Punch controls manage transients between left, right, and center. A low-frequency filter feeds the LFE channel on UM226, and an intuitive display shows energy distribution in the surround field.
