Viator DSP Marauder is a free bitcrusher and distortion effect for producers who want anything from light digital roughness to heavily degraded audio. It suits hobby music makers adding lo-fi character to drums, synths, samples, or other tracks without replacing their original sound entirely.

Resample reduces the processing sample rate, while the Bit Depth selector offers resolutions from 6 to 16 bits. For less uniform degradation, Jitter varies the accuracy of downsampling and upsampling. A dedicated Noise control adds pink noise that responds dynamically to the bit-depth setting, giving you another way to shape the texture.

Drive feeds the signal harder into the crushing circuit, with version 2 introducing an experimental lo-fi distortion algorithm. The wet/dry Mix lets you blend the processed sound with the original, and Trim controls the overall output level. A low-end Filter also helps address a high-frequency artifact associated with Resample adjustments.
