QUO is a free 32-bit Windows panning effect for producers who want to position sounds across a virtual stage. Rather than modelling a realistic room, it uses two virtual microphones and timing cues to create spatial effects intended for both headphone and loudspeaker listening. It accepts mono and stereo signals, with true stereo panning available for stereo material.
An XY pad lets you move the sound source around the stage, while Ctrl-drag snaps its position to a 10-by-10 grid. For mono tracks, the Haas Cross Dual Delay can create a stereo image. Interaural timing differences and distance-based delay provide further ways to shape perceived placement. High-frequency air absorption and adjustable reflection intensity add control over the spatial character, while Boost Mic changes linear level decay to an adjustable logarithmic response.
QUO suits hobby producers experimenting with placement on individual tracks or building wider arrangements. Its compact 1.8 MB package is aimed at Windows setups; check that your FL Studio or Ableton Live configuration can load 32-bit plugins before installing.
