Keemun is a virtual bass instrument for Windows that recreates the sound of a professionally recorded bass DI, letting keyboard players write and perform realistic bass lines without a bassist. It runs on the Synthetic Force Engine II, which blends sampled waveforms from custom-made basses and studio recording chains with real-time synthesis. Because each note is generated in real time, the engine aims to preserve the original timbre through pitch bends, slides, mutes, slaps, plucks, picks, pulls and pinches, giving you more expressive playing than static samples typically allow. The raw DI tones are clean and high quality, so they work well with just a touch of EQ or can be reamped through your own physical or virtual bass rigs and effects. It is built for low latency (under a millisecond) and optimized for CPU use, making it suitable for live performance. Keemun ships as VST3, AAX and 64-bit and is aimed at hobby producers on FL Studio, Ableton or Logic who want playable bass parts in their tracks.
