Viator DSP Diode Amplifier is a free amp simulation effect with speaker cabinet emulation and support for custom cabinet impulse responses. It suits hobby producers and guitarists who want an amp-style processing stage with a choice of built-in or external cabinet shaping.
The cabinet section can be switched off when you prefer to use a separate speaker simulation. Disabling it also reduces the direct signal level to help avoid a sudden jump in volume. For custom setups, load your own cab IR; the plugin remembers your selection and the file browser’s last-used folder. If that IR is later moved or deleted, Diode Amplifier returns to its built-in response the next time you open it. A Reset IR button also restores the default cabinet response.
A Bright switch enables or bypasses a peak filter around 4 kHz, giving you control over that upper-frequency emphasis. The high tone control starts at the noon position. Version 4.1.0 also includes a refreshed interface and DSP optimizations intended to reduce CPU use.
