Red Rock Sound AQ550b is a four-band equalizer for Windows that brings late-1960s American EQ design into a flexible digital workflow. It suits home producers and mixing enthusiasts who want straightforward tonal shaping for individual tracks or more detailed stereo and multichannel processing.

Each band provides seven selectable frequencies, with generous overlap between bands for both corrective adjustments and broad tonal enhancement. Proportional Q automatically changes the filter width: gentle boosts or cuts stay wider, while stronger adjustments become more focused. That means you can shape the sound without managing a separate bandwidth control.

Four EQ units run in series and can target different channels. Use separate settings for mid and side information, process left and right together, or assign units to specific channels in an immersive mix. Unit naming, solo, bypass and settings copying help keep these configurations manageable.

For larger sessions, AQ550b includes 44 routing layouts, reaching up to 9.1.6, plus custom profiles with as many as 16 independent channels. Windows VST2 and VST3 versions are listed for compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live.
