The Orb by AudioThing is a formant filter plugin that gives your audio the vowel-shaped character of a human voice. Three ZDF band-pass filters sculpt incoming sounds into vocal-like tones, making it a creative choice for talking basslines, animated synth parts and unusual drum textures. Choose Male, Female or Child vowel sets, or build custom vowels by editing their names and three formant frequencies. The orb interface brings vowel selection, emphasis and drift together: move between vowel sounds, adjust resonance and shift formant frequencies for different tonal shades. Three LFOs can modulate those parameters to keep the effect moving. With low CPU usage, a preset randomizer and custom vowel sets saved within presets or DAW sessions, The Orb suits producers who want expressive filtering without a heavy processing load. It supports 64-bit VST, AU and AAX formats on Windows and macOS.
