VCA Compressor

VCA Compressor by Softube recreates a legendary, characterful hardware compressor known for its hard-knee curve and the harmonic richness it adds through its gain stages. The result is a punchy, snappy sound that brings weight, glue, and sheen to bass, guitars, and vocals, and excels at aggressive snare tones or blown-up room channels. Modern additions expand its usefulness for mixing and production: a Drive control for extra harmonic content, a Sidechain section with punch, filter, and external gain, Stereo Link for linked or independent dual-mono operation, High Frequency Make-up to restore lost top end, and Dry/Wet blending. Built on two decades of analog modeling expertise, it suits hobby producers who want authentic vintage compression character with a flexible, DAW-friendly workflow across genres and mix tasks.
