Obvious Filter is a free VST/AU plugin from FKFX that transforms any incoming audio into rhythmic sequences using a morphing filter sequencer. It includes ten resonant filter types modeled after classic analog circuits, with LP4, LP2, BP4, BP2, HP4, HP2, N4, N2, N2X, and PEAK+ENV options. The morph sequencer lets you draw and edit filter movements with point, line, and pencil tools, then apply randomize modes or snap settings for variation. A modulation matrix offers 33 routing circuits, pitch and envelope control, and 39 oscillators including sine, triangle, FM, saw, square, and pulse shapes. You also get 128 presets, a preset manager with favorites and auto-ordering, and an OpenGL interface with interactive help and precise VU meters. Polyrhythmic rates and three morphing modes (Immediate, Morph, Linear) add further flexibility. It runs on Windows and Mac in VST and AU formats, making it suitable for hobby producers using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic who want to add rhythmic filter motion to drums, synths, or any audio source.
