Steinberg VST Live 2 Pro is a Windows live performance system for musicians who need to coordinate sound, lighting and video during a show. Rather than serving as a single synth or effect, it brings several stage-production tasks into one software environment. It is aimed at performers and producers taking their music beyond the studio, particularly those working with virtual instruments and synchronized visual elements.
The software includes a broad selection of virtual instruments, along with synchronization tools for keeping musical and visual components aligned. Text and chord symbols can be displayed on other devices, giving performers a way to follow material during a set. Video support adds another element to the performance, while MIDI tracks can provide direct control of DMX lighting.
Cubase import offers a route for bringing existing projects into a live setup. For hobby producers preparing a performance, VST Live 2 Pro is worth considering as a dedicated stage environment rather than a conventional mixing plugin for a DAW.
