Tank Drum

AudioThing Tank Drum brings the rounded, resonant sound of a steel tongue drum into your productions as a sampled Kontakt instrument. Captured from an eight-tongue drum tuned to E minor pentatonic, it offers hand-played and rubber-mallet tones alongside additional textures made with hands and brushes. Long decays and rich harmonics make it a natural fit for ambient layers, reflective melodies, cinematic cues and relaxed electronic tracks. Three velocity layers and five round-robin samples add variation to repeated notes, while seven custom impulse responses provide additional sonic character. The library includes seven Kontakt instruments and 274 samples recorded at 44.1 kHz/24-bit, with Kontakt and WAV formats supplied. It suits producers looking for organic percussion that can also carry a melodic part. The Kontakt instruments require the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt; this is software, not a physical drum.
