Paraphrasis is a spectral sampler resynthesizer that lets you model any sound using just a single audio sample. Instead of stacking layers or browsing huge libraries, you feed it one mono recording and shape the result with two controls: the frequency pitch of the sample and the frequency resolution of the spectral analysis. It offers 16-voice polyphony, so you can play chords and pads from that one source, and a Reverse option that analyses the sample backward so the synthesized output is reversed as well. Because it works spectrally, it is well suited to hobby producers exploring sound design, ambient textures, and experimental tones in FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic on Windows. Keep in mind that it currently handles mono sounds only, so stereo files need to be prepared beforehand. It runs as a VST/AU plugin on Windows and Mac and is a compact 9 MB download, making it an easy addition to a home studio setup.
